Tips for moms - the main rules for washing a baby
Anyone understands that a newborn does not have as strong immunity as an adult and too delicate skin. That is why you should consider a few basic washing rules for the baby. So, the basic rules:
The first and, perhaps, the main rule: children's clothes (as well as dirty ones) should ALWAYS be washed separately from adults' clothes until the age of three. Belching or stool should, of course, be pre-washed with water using a brush.
Washing tips
It is better if dirty baby clothes are loaded into the washing machine immediately. Do not accumulate it if you want to simplify your life: firstly, it will be much easier to put the children's wardrobe in order, and secondly, fresh stains are much easier to remove.
In especially severe cases, pre-soak baby clothes for an hour either in a soapy solution or in a solution of vinegar.
IMPORTANT: after washing, rinse the baby clothes as thoroughly as possible, as the remains of the washing powder can lead to skin irritation and itching!
Drying baby clothes is also desirable separately. And they should be hung so that street dust does not fall on them.
If the mother is breastfeeding, it is also better to wash and dry her clothes separately. And here the right choice of funds is also important.
Often, young mothers neglect washing new children's things, believing that since things are new, they must be clean. So no! All new baby clothes must be washed! New things passed through dozens of hands: from the cutter to the seller. Can you be sure of their sterility?

Iron or not?
Of course yes. Iron the washed baby clothes thoroughly on both sides. This must be done for disinfection. High temperature plus steam will destroy any germs and bacteria. In addition, well-ironed baby clothes are more pleasant to the touch. The baby will be much more comfortable. It is especially necessary to iron baby diapers until the baby's umbilical wound is overgrown. During this period, the baby is especially vulnerable to various infections.
How to wash baby clothes
It is very important not to make a mistake with the right choice of funds. The modern industry offers a huge range of detergents for washing baby clothes. Always read the ingredients carefully. Do not neglect this rule, even if the package is marked 0+. Remember that allergic dermatitis in children is most often the result of washing children's clothes with powders containing phosphate or chlorine.
IMPORTANT: It is strictly forbidden to use powders containing aggressive phosphates, chlorine or fragrances! Also, do not wash children's clothes with bleach, rinses or conditioners. There is a risk of causing an allergy in a child. It is better to replace stain removers with more natural products: hydrogen peroxide or vinegar solution: safer, better and cheaper.
By hand or in the washing machine?
Cotton baby clothes are quite suitable for machine washing. The main thing is to choose the right mode. Many washing machines have a "Baby wash" mode, or another similar one. It is better to set the temperature to 75-90 degrees. Be sure to set the extra rinse program. In principle, washing children's clothes in a washing machine is preferable. There is no point in torturing yourself with hand washing unless absolutely necessary. And the temperature in the washer is much higher. The only thing that matters is the right choice of funds.
Recently, laundry soap has come into fashion among young mothers. Apparently at the suggestion of the older generation of grandmothers. Of course, it will not cope with strong pollution. But for an ordinary children's laundry, it is quite suitable for itself: it is natural, hypoallergenic, softens washed things well. The best option in this case is to grate the soap on a regular grater and place it in the powder compartment.
As for washing by hand, in some cases you really can’t do without it. The main rule here: thorough rinsing. This is no less important than choosing the right laundry detergent. Rinse hand-washed linen at least 2-3 times. The ideal option is to rinse in hot water, then in warm and 2-3 times in cold. Baby clothes should be soaked first. Depending on pollution from 30 minutes to 2 hours.
Well, do not forget to look at the labels, which indicate the optimal temperature for washing. Knitwear, for example, should not be washed at temperatures above 40 degrees: they will lose their presentation. Wool is best washed at 30 degrees.
White items are washed separately, colored items are washed separately. Over individual stains, you can even work separately with a brush and soap.
There is another category of clothes for babies that cannot be washed at all. For example, warm envelopes or overalls.Only thorough steaming can help here. A steam generator or iron will help you.
